A letter from our Executive Director
Dear Friends,
The 2010-2011 program year represented a fast-paced and renewed focus on the provision of high quality Child Care Resource and Referral services to Indiana's families, child care providers, and communities. Specific outreach strategies were implemented to provide professional development to all types of child care, consumer education to all Indiana families searching for child care, and innovative methods for reaching community stakeholders to increase awareness about our services.
Many successes and accomplishments resulted from the programs funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Throughout the course of this work, IACCRR maintained a keen focus in sustainability of the momentum gained with unlicensed registered child care ministries, licensed child care centers, and family child care homes, as well as child care programs specifically serving infants and toddlers, and the movement of these programs toward increasing quality in all child care environments.
Indiana's quality rating and improvement system, Paths to QUALITY, continued to reap positive outcomes and successes with all-time-high achievements in enrollment and level advancement. Indiana's CCR&R system provided thousands of hours of training, technical assistance, and mentoring to child care programs statewide.
As a part of the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) State Network Council and of the NACCRRA Strategic Oversight Committee, I remain committed to keeping Indiana's Child Care Resource and Referral system informed of national trends and how they impact our work. Indiana continues to be recognized as having one of the premier quality CCR&R systems in the country.
IACCRR is poised to meet the ever-evolving needs of Indiana's families, child care providers, and communities.
Marsha Thompson
Executive Director
